The top-to-bottom restoration of the historic Higgins House was a labor of love lasting nearly 4 years. Now, the rambling red structure, which stands at Franklin Township’s edge welcoming all to the charming village of Kingston, is as solid and handsome as it was in 1709. Original woodwork and wide-plank pine floors are in lovely condition. Missing lengths of molding were perfectly matched and elegant archways recreated. Hand-hewn beams, some whitewashed and others still showing their bark, span ceilings upstairs and in the transformed basement. Currently a thriving day spa and yoga studio, the main building dons warm colors, with a sound system and 4 fireplaces, all converted to gas, enhancing the palpable ambiance. The upper level has treatment rooms ranging in size, while the main level has larger spaces for reception and exercise. High-end locker rooms are located below. Lush plantings and a second annex building, still in renovation, shroud a Zen garden with sauna and 4 cedar soaking tubs open to the stars. Take a closer look here!
